winner named in "Guess How much the Elevator Weighs" Contest
It was a success! Heartland Building Moving lifted the elevator so the limestone foundation could be rebuilt. The weight of the elevator was 157,450 pounds!
The winner, DeAnn Scearce of Mount Vernon, Iowa, guessed 126,000 pounds.
A plaque with DeAnn's name is displayed in the elevator as the winner of this contest.
